Hey everyone, I was wondering if everybody is up for a riding session whether its downtown or at NSP. I know that we havent made it out to NSP in a while or even had much riding done at that. I also figured it would be a great time to get back on a bike after recovering from my broken arm and also for Josh Spencer to try out his new Trek Session 10!!! I heard it was suppose to be nice this weekend, but if not this weekend maybe next weekend, wheather depending.

I got to thinking the other day of having a Freeride Demo. Kinda like the ont they had at Platte River State Park back in 2005. I thought it might inspire people and youth to get involved and more active in the cycling community. Or maybe even something like the 2hip event The Bike Way threw back in 2004? I am just throwing out some ideas to see if anybodys interested. Hoping that if enough are game to do it, we can do it spring of 2008. Thanks.

Going to the Track!

Just got the new bike so I hit up the BMX track at Heflinger on Sunday. Lovin it already, almost got the gear ratios dailed. Big change going from 8inches of travel to zero, but hopefully it will make me faster on the DH. It will def help with sprinting (holy crap winded) after a lap. The track is super fast and you need a ton of gearing to clear the jumps. I was able to clear a couple of the tables and manual a couple sections. Should be able to clear them all once I get 17t rear freewheel. I think the hot gearing is going to be 44-17 but well see. I head some people are getting bikes so hopefully see you out there!

To top it off 399 buys you on hella nice BMX bike as opposed to one brake on my demo 8 = nice change

Things I never thought I'd see on a mountain bike

All this and more can be found in the newest movie from New World Disorder. They are up to 8 films now and have lots of practice in kicking ass and taking names. This title is NWD 8 "Smack Down" and I'm sure it will be just that. It will be premiered on my birthday September 26 in fabulous Las Vegas. So next Sunday (the 28th) i would like to have a trail day where we can get everything ready for summer and get some riding in so let me know if you are in. ya i plan on being there all day from 10-8 so even if you can make it out for a couple hours that would be awesome.

Skinny

Nate and I went out Sunday for a build day. The weather was great, and got a lot of building done. The low skinny is now well over 100 feet in length. The nice weather also permitted us to ride it, the one thing that i really like about the new skinny is that it is really close to the ground so that you can practice skills with out getting hurt. The other thing that I like is that it is very changeling but doable this makes it fun every time that you ride it because you don't know if you are going to make it.

Totem In The House

Well with the arrival of the new Totem coil and a brand new 2007 DHX 5.0 (Thanks Fox Warranty) the AS-X is feeling like new bike and ready to hit the trails. So far so good the fork is a huge huge improvement. The steering is even better bc they managed to fit in 10mm more travel and still have about a half inch shorter axel to crown length compared to the sherman. With the high and low adjust it can go from drop ready to full on downhill plush and has flood gate lock out. Got the tires, fork, and rear shock just need the those wheels to show up and will be ready to rock for Moab. I loved this bike before and now it just blows me away. At 37lbs (down from 41) she pedals dam good too gonna be 35.5 with the new wheels. Well hopefully the new stuff will pan out well, never tried rock shox before but so far super impressed but for 999 I should be. All I need now is some snow melt and some good temps.

Today Corey and I went out and battled the cold weather and finished the Spiral the raps around the tree to the left of the bridge. Yesterday my friend Matt and I went out and gathered a trailer and a half full of wood form dumpsters at construction sites, this method of getting wood seems to be very reliable. Tomorrow Nate and I are planning another build day to finnish the roller coaster if any one would like to come out and help give Nate a call at the Bike Way or his cell phone...

Well yet another successful build day at NSP. The snow does not seem slow down the building process. We decided to add a 2 more features, that stray away form the high altitude acrobatic features that NSP has already been accreted with. The two new additions include a skinny with a ladder to halfed log to ladder to halfed log, and an A LINE highly (3-5 feet) elevated ladder to roller coaster.

Gage say's Farewell?!

I'm not sure how many of you know, but Gage has sold his bike. This came from a HUGE crash in Colorado and some SERIOUS hospital time. We are glad he is recovering well, since it has been several months since the crash but only recently did we box up his ride and send it out the door. I found this pic from one of the trips and thought it was a good occasion to remind everyone to enjoy the ride everytime you get a chance. A little more time to heal up and he'll be back on the trail. Cheers!!

Just another build day at NSP

Today me and Caleb went out and finished putting the ladder on the teeter todder and built a all natural skinny ladder off the teeter todder that starts off at one foot and narrows down to 4 inches...We also finished some of the ladder to the left of the table top landing. Its going to take a lot more wood to finish the spiral around the tree, Nate thinks he would a pretty good source for scrap wood so i hope that turns out good. Tomorrow is going to to be a partial build day the first half is going to be spend gathering wood the the second half is going to be spend building so if anyone would like to come out and help give Nate a call and find out where we are... Sorry for the pic quality i took them with my phone

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing

Took a few photos of the ravines under some snow gave some neat shots with different depths than normal photos. On man does the snow make me want to ride so much more looking forward to spring/summer rolling around and being able to get some serious riding and building in. On the bright side got to try out the 1.75 studded snow tires (which worked awesome by the way) skinny cuts through the snow = way easier to pedal. Also my dad organized all the tools which should help a ton at finding things in the morning.

Even though it is Christmas weekend people are still going out tomorrow on Saturday and I will be out there Sunday. Well with some consideration of the people new to freeriding and for the people still on the cross country side we have a plan for the end of the bridge. We are gone make a step up to a higher ladder if you hit it with speed or you could just ride up. Then a drop off the end but nothing big so should be pretty easy. But we are gone add a cheater line to just ride down (nah got have some progression cant go big the first time). And from there we will be able to pick the different lines. Got some good hook ups on wood thanks again mike and found some good places to buy it, but still forking out a good chunk any donations whether wood or money goes along way. Hopefully we will have some good weather to get some building done.

Bridge Build

Well with the great weather and a ton of help, thanks to everyone for coming out, we were able to get a lot built and get some good riding done. Here are some photos showing some progression on moving the bridge across the ravine and building the supports. I didn't get any film of the riding but I know that Rusty had to have caught some good stuff on the video cam. Glad to land that big jump cleanly its butter smooth if you clear it. Speaking of that the ravines took its first victim; I think Coles wreck was the hardest I have ever seen. I have definitely never seen a wheel taco that fast and see a Marrzochi fork bend two inches to the right and crack the crown so bad. That one had to hurt but he is a trooper, he'll be out next week. All in all a great day of riding and getting the first run dialed. It was nice to have some new guys out, Derek and Scott. Hopefully see some videos and more photos up.

Weekend plans

Here are the plans for the bridge gap to cross the ravine that divides the property in half. Also some sweet potential for some awesome runs through the ravines. Where we could go pretty much as crazy as you want! Any say 80 ft drop, well not yet and probably never but it is possible. Back to the plans that my dad drew up, I made a couple changes/ suggestions. I added some dimensions to the plans for all who have not seen the bridge in person which looks big and scary. Also I think we will put the bridge up so it slants down and not level so you can coast easier/pedal across.
